The Return of SROs

Last night we had a huge win as the OSD Board unanimously approved several policies that allow for negotiations to take place in an effort to get SROs back into our schools. You read that right: UNANIMOUS approval of the policy. This is a huge first step. Now, the conversations can start to take place to start rebuilding our public relationship with local law enforcement for the foreseeable future!

You probably know that this is a huge pillar of my campaign for the Board Director #2 position on this school board, but I’ve never been more happy to have to consider reprinting my campaign materials! I appreciate the level of collaboration that was on display last night, as we slogged through amendments and worked towards approval. It’s this kind of collaboration that we need to ensure that everybody feels like they are having their concerns addressed in a reasonable manner in creating policies that can help shape our future together.
